What is a spoken word piece 'Spoken word' is a art performance art which is based upon written dialogue. It is an oral art that focuses on the aesthetic of Word play, Slang, Pitch, Tone, Rhyming and Voice Inflection. Spoken word pieces are related to various other forms of art such as Hip Hop, Jazz Poetry, Poetry Slams, Comedy routines, Sketches, Stand Up, etc. From my Understanding a spoken word piece is a written piece of art which requires the writer or performer to perform in some type of way that allows the person to express the words in a rhythmic or preformative way.
