Location Name: Hemsby playing Field Address:Waters Lane, Hemsby, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, NR29 4NH Time of filming: 13:30pm - 17:00pm Reason for picking location: I chose this location because it was very close to where I live and I thought it had some nice scenery where the trees are located on the field, it also happened to have some nice areas on the field where I could use some of my colour grading to my advantage. I didn't really chose to have this location because it related to the source material at all, I used it because I wanted to use an area which made my client could feel comfortable in so I could capture the best performance possible. Location Name: Broadswater house Address: Broadswater house,  Main road, Ormesby St Michael, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, NR293LS Times of filming: 15:00pm - 18:00pm Reason for picking location: I picked this location because I wanted to have some scenery that looked abandoned and grey, which connotated the feeling of sadnes...

Evaluation of edit

Image
For my first edit of my project I had to a great deal of colour correction to make sure my over exposed shots looked more creative and experimental rather than just overexposed shots from the sun. I used the colour wheels and played with the saturation, the sharpness and the contrast to make the colours of the shot look more brighter sharper and more colourful.I got this idea about making the colours pop out and look bright to stand out from watching music videos where there is uses of over exposure to make the shots look more interesting overall. This developed my skills in editing in a ways because I've never really had to deal with colour correcting shots so overexposed as mine, but because I wanted to experiment with this I played around with the colour settings to give it the image that me and izzy had already discussed for the image we were trying to portray.Another method I used in my editing for the first cut was uses of cutaways and non preformative footage to create some ...

Evaluation of Independent client

For this project, I was assigned a brief which required me to create a piece of promotional media for a client of my choice. When i started this project I originally wanted to create a portfolio of images for a company to promote them as a company. When we were creating our scripts with Lillie Ferrari, I approached her to ask if she needed any promotion done for her script writing company 'Script 6' she accepted the offer and our original plan was for me to make a series of mood boards and a portfolio of images that showed off the members of the company.I researched into various styles of commercial photography and looked into ways I could produce more creative portraits. Sadly after a large amount of scheduling issues issues, mainly to do with the snowstorms that left the college closed for almost an entire week, I decided I would have to change my client in order to help meet my deadlines. To replace my client I had asked my friend Izzy, who is a writer and performer of spoke...

Shoot Evaluation

on the 19th April 2018 we had our last day of filming, we went to our location and set up, whilst Izzy was getting prepared to film, I filmed the scenery around us and conversations we were having whilst is what preparing herself, I did this because I wanted to have some uses of cutaways and to add some more personality to Izzy's performance and to help create her image as an artist. We had filmed on a very sunny day and I thought that I could try out some shots with some overexposure, after using the overexposure on various shots, my results were mixed I found that some of the shots I produced look quite interesting but I found that a few shots look well to over exposed and just unwatchable. We filmed 5 verses from izzy's piece and we used 6 different chots in different areas of the location. When recording the sound I felt some scenes were capture very well considering we were filming outside but their parts footage which I cannot use because of a large amount of backgroun...

Filming Techniques

Panning Shots: I wanted into using pans for this project because after looking into music videos from musical and spoken word artists this a convention which is typically used to capture the movement of the artists performance, Panning shots are shots which begin still, then either veered right or left. for example in the music video for Kendrick Lamar's song 'Kings Dead' there is a large use of pans and zooms which reveal certain visual elements or performances occurring on screen. I like the way this video particularly uses panning because it usually reveals something visually interesting or humorous for example at the 0:50 to 1:00 of the video there is a close up shot of some money being gambled then it slowly zooms out to a group of women and the camera then slowly pans left till it is stopped at a barber shop and then zoomed into a close up of the rapper Jay Rock performing his verse. This shot is very creative because its capturing so much within one shot, we basi...
